Top 3 Off-Road Vehicles

Off-roading can be one of the most exhilarating ways to drive your vehicle--but it can also be dangerous if you don't have the right vehicle or take proper precautions.

If you're an adventurous driver, make sure you have a vehicle that can safely accompany you:

Best Off-Road SUVs

By far our favorite off-road pick is the infamous Jeep Wrangler SUV. Built with trail rated 4x4 capabilities, efficient traction systems, axle articulation, high ground clearance, and water fording, it is easy to see that the Jeep Wrangler is built to take you anywhere.

For another, capable option, consider the Jeep Renegade. Also trail rated tough, the Renegade is equipped with Selec-Terrain traction management for different conditions (auto, snow, sand, mud, rock) and hill descent control on the Trailhawk model which works against gravity to help aid driving on inclines and steep slopes.

Best Off-Road Trucks

While the Jeep Wrangler has a windowless option for open-air driving, if you're looking for a wide open back to haul more equipment and cargo, a RAM truck could be right for you.

For its off-roading capabilities, we recommend the Ram 1500. Drivers can look forward to a max payload of 2,300 pounds, towing of up to 12,750, high ground clearance with an adaptive chassis, and even a comprehensive 4x4 off-road package available for all 4x4 models--and standard on the Rebel.
